Since school starts tomorrow I wanted to share pictures of all the fun we've had this summer!
My parents came to Logan to visit us so we showed them around town and took them to Bear Lake to indulge in everything raspberry flavored. We had so much fun and we're so glad they finally got to see where we live and spend time with us.
The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays because the whole family usually comes to celebrate. We enjoy the classic Cedar City parade, treat our selves to a vanilla coke from Brad's and grandpa's favorite burgers in the park, and then head up to Cedar mountain to grandma's cabin.
While all the grandkids were still in town, my mom organized a grandma camp for them. It was so much fun! Since my mom loves to cook and she's dang good at it, the theme for grandma camp was cooking. The kids had the chance to decorate aprons, cook lunch for each other and critique each other, and have a mystery dinner. My mom is the greatest mom and grandma and always succeeds at making all of us so happy. I really appreciate that woman :)
Eric and I are so grateful that our cousins, Whitney and Troy, live in Logan too. They are always inviting us over for yummy food and fun hikes and showing us the fun things to do in Logan.
Katelyn and Matt wanted to come visit us in Logan so we took them to the Crystal Hot Springs to swim and then to Lagoon the next day. We had so much fun with them!
Probably one of my favorite parts of summer is the fair. Something about social gatherings with some of the strangest people gets me excited. This year we were way excited because one of Eric's favorite country bands Ricochet performed. He even got a poster signed by them and I got my favorite fair lemonade.
We were so excited that my sister Hillary gave us her 2 leftover tickets to Seven Peaks! It was our last big summer adventure and we had so much fun. We lucked out too, because just as we were about to leave, lightning struck their power box and the whole park had to shut down because of no electricity. I tried to snap a picture of the lightning explosion but was too slow and got one of Eric's smiling face instead.
For our last hoorah, we went on another hike in Logan canyon. It was gorgeous!! The hike took us to where the pioneers cut down trees to make the tabernacle and temple. Those people had some serious strength! So grateful for them and their faith.
I'm so sad that summer is already over. Seems like it flew by! But I know Eric is excited to be back in school and I'm excited to see what Logan is like in the fall. I've been told it's the prettiest! Thanks for treating us so good, Summer! Until next year.
